Our Mission
To provide funds that will be used to work alongside the Grand River Conservation Authority to expand and improve systems that warn users of the river on potentially dangerous conditions that can result from changing volumes of water along the river.
This will include targeted warning systems that provide real-time information to users, visual warning systems on the river itself and education within the community on water safety.
Supported activities include independent expert consultations, procurement and installation of equipment/signage, research and development, software applications and educational programs.
The short term goals of the fund focus on the areas surrounding the Elora Gorge with longer term goals targeting other areas with similar challenges.
